The Traverses Manager can display lots of information about a traverse, including its area, closing errors, number of points, precision and more. Including this information in the Traverses Manager allows you to easily identify a traverse's state (adjusted vs unadjusted) in addition to reporting traverse data in a concise manner.
From the Traverses Manager choose Tools | View | Format View. Enter the appropriate characters in the Display Sequence for the Format you want. The columns you include in the Display Sequence will also be displayed in the Tool Tip for each traverse in the manager.
You can update the traverse data displayed in the Traverses Manager by choosing Tools | Recompute Selected Traverses. . TPC recomputes the selected (highlighted) traverse's closures, areas and precisions as needed to insure that the data is current.
Most of the time, traverse data is recomputed automatically. As you enter new data in a Traverse View, TPC recomputes the traverse to reflect the changes. When you open the Closure View, TPC recomputes the area of the traverse so that it is displayed accurately. But what about updating a survey point in a COGO routine. Or entering a new coordinate for a point in the Point View. These changes do not cause all the related traverses to be recomputed, so the Recompute Selected Traverses tool is just a way to make sure all the traverse data is current.
One of the benefits of including traverse data in the Traverses Manager is that you can include create a record of the data in either a printout or a report.
The Closure View displays the closure information for a traverse. You can also adjust coordinates and angles from the Closure View.
