Extending Drawing Objects
When you extend an object, the program modifies the object so that one or both ends of the extended object end at the intersection of another object. Lines and arcs are the most commonly extended objects.
There are three ways to extend objects:
Extend command
- From the Drawing View, choose Edit | Extend.
- Left-click the object to extend to. This can be a line, curve, arc, rectangle, polyline, etc.
- Left-click the end of object you want extended. The end of the object nearest the
left-click will be extended.
- The repeat toggle is automatically turned on, allowing you to left-click the end
of other objects to extend.
- When you are finished, right-click the mouse or press Enter.
Right-click a single object
- Right-click any object near the end that you want extended. From the pop up menu, choose Extend.
- Left-click the object to extend to.
The program trims just the right-clicked object.
Survey lines can not be modified
TPC does not allow you to modify survey lines with commands like break, trim, or extend. You must modify the line in the traverse that created it.
