Find Command

Use this command to find traverses or survey points with matching text in the point label or description. The Find dialog is displayed, providing appropriate search options. When you choose Find Next from the dialog, TPC locates and highlights the next matching item. You cancel the search at any time with the Cancel button in the dialog.

Finding Traverses in the Traverses Manager

To search for a traverse in the Traverses Manager,

• choose Traverse Name in the Find dialog then enter the text to search for. TPC searches the traverse names looking for matching text.

Finding Points from the Traverses Manager

From the Traverses Manager, you can also search for survey points. If you search for a point label or description from the Traverses Manager, TPC will select the next traverse that contains a point matching the search criteria. You will need to open the Traverse View and repeat this Edit | Find command to search the opened traverse.

If you want a quick list of all the traverses a point is part of,

• select that point in the Points Manager and choose Tools | Properties.
• or select the point in the Traverse View and choose Tools | Modify Points | Properties.
• From the Survey Point Properties dialog, choose List Traverses.

TPC will add a section to the current Report View listing each traverse that contains that point.

When you choose the Find command in the Traverse View, TPC limits it's search to points in the traverse.
