Traverse View Format Dialog

To change the information displayed in the Traverse View, choose View | Format View or press the [F9] key from the Traverse View.

Display Sequence

Type any sequence of letters listed to the right. The order in which they appear determines the display sequence of the Traverse View and any printouts.

Note: The point label and type fields are always displayed and do not need to be stated in the Display Sequence. All of the others are optional.

If you include either the Status ( J ) or Origin ( Q ) codes, the following information will be reported in those fields as applicable:

J = Status - Displays any Status Codes for this point.
P = All point data is Protected (Northing, Easting, Elevation).
E = The Elevation of this point is Protected.
A = This point has been Adjusted.
R = This point has been Rotated.
T = This point has been Translated.
O = The Topo designation has been turned On for this point.

Q = Origin - Where did this point come from?
KBD = Coordinates were entered by keyboard.
COMP = Raw data is available for this point and its coordinates were computed.
COGO = The coordinates of this point were determined by a COGO tool.
IMPORT = This point was Imported.

Edit Sequence

Type any sequence of letters listed to the right. The order in which you type them will determine the editing sequence in the Traverse View. Each edit sequence letter must also appear in the display sequence. If it does not, it will be added to the display sequence for you.

Example: If you type the edit sequence "SEF," pressing the enter key in the Traverse View will move you from Slope Distance, to Zenith Angle, to Horizontal or Field Angle and back to Slope Distance. If you want the cursor to track through the point label then add a "P" to the data entry sequence. ("SEFP")

OP Sequence

Enter the point types that you would like to have used for each occupied station.

Example: BS/SS would insert a backsight then a sideshot after the occupied point.

Use the following letters to define a point type:

BS=Backsight

SS=Side shot

FS=Foresight

BM=Benchmark

RS=Resection

Description Width

Enter the width you want the Point Description field to display in the Traverse View if you want to change it from the default value.

If you are trying to squeeze information on to a print out, delete items you don't need from the display sequence and/or reduce the description width.

Single Row per Point

Use one or two rows to display each point.

In Single Row format, your data looks like this:

100

101100.45N35°30’30”EFND 1” I.P.

102124.87N76°15’46”EFND 1” I.P.

With Single Row format turned off, your data looks like this:

100

100.45N35°30’30”E

101FND 1” I.P.

124.87N76°15’46”E

102FND 1” I.P.

Copy Descriptions to new Points

Turn this option on to copy the description of a point to each new point that is created below it. Use this as a time saver if you have a series of points with the same description.

Delete the Deleate Raw Warning

Turn this on to have TPC warn you if any points you are about to delete contain raw data. If turned on, TPC will list the points with raw data in the Message View so you can see which points the message refers to.

In TPC, raw data is stored with the traverse points. If you delete a traverse point with raw data, the raw data is gone.

Show Private Status Bar

With this option turned On [X] , TPC displays a status bar for the Traverse View along the bottom of the view. This option is especially useful when you are using multiple monitors with different views on different monitors.

Save the current settings under a new or existing named traverse format.

Recall Format

Recalls an existing traverse format. You are able to choose any of the pre-defined formats or any you have saved.
