Once you have defined a survey Coordinate Reference System (CRS), you can convert between geodetic and rectangular coordinates based on that grid.
If you know the rectangular (grid) coordinates, enter them. The Latitude and Longitude will be computed and displayed automatically.
If you have a survey point with the coordinates for which you want a Latitude and Longitude, enter the point label for Point.
If you know the Latitude and Longitude, enter them. The grid coordinates are computed and displayed automatically.
Enter Latitude positive=North, negative=South or include the letter N before or after the value for North or the letter S before or after the value for South.
Enter Longitude positive=East, negative=West or include the letter W before or after the value for West or the letter E before or after the value for East.
Choose this button to change the CRS used to convert between grid and geodetic coordinates without changing the CRS of the survey.
When you open this dialog, TPC assumes you want to use the CRS of the survey. Most of the time, this is a valid assumption. If, however, you have individual points based on another CRS, you can select that CRS and do the computations in this dialog based on it. The CRS you select from this dialog does not change the CRS of the survey. To change the CRS of the survey, you must choose Tools | Survey Information, Coordinate Reference System.
