Spell Check Settings Dialog

These settings affect the way the spell checker works throughout the program.

Ignore numbers

(default = on)

Ignore numbers like 124.5 or N35°30'30"E. Word that include digits (0-9), +, - or a decimal (.) are ignored.

Ignore UPPER CASE

(default = off)

Ignore upper case words. This option is useful if you include proper names like streets or counties.

Use main dictionary only

(default = off)

When turned on, this option forces the spell checker to ignore any words you have added to the dictionary.

As you check spelling, TPC allows you to add words to the dictionary. The words you add are not added to the main dictionary. Instead, they are added to the user dictionary stored on that computer.

Suggest corrections

(default = on)

When this option is turned on, the spell checker suggests correctly spelled words you can use to replace a misspelled word. If this option is not turned on, you can still manually correct the spelling of any misspelled words.

Delineate Objects

(default = on)

This option works only in Drawing View when you spell check a layer, selected objects or the entire drawing.

If a misspelled word is found in a drawing object that is being checked, the Spell Check dialog displays that objects text for you to edit. If this option is turned on, that object is also delineated in the drawing so you have a visual reference of the object you are editing.

Edit User Dictionary

Choose this option to edit the user dictionary in your default word processor.

The words in the user dictionary are stored in an ASCII txt file with one word per line. They are not sorted in any particular order.

You are free to add, remove or modify any words in the file. When you are finished editing the file, simply close the word processor.
