This dialog lets you change way TPC looks and functions. In addition to changing the look of menus, tool bars and tabs, you can also change from traditional resizing windows to tabbed windows.
Windows programs sometimes refer to these as 'skins'. They are predefined settings that make the menus, tool bars, dialogs and views look like other Windows programs you use. TPC updates the desktop each time you make a selection from the list, so you can quickly see the affects and choose the Look you want.
The Tab Style controls the way tabs are used and displayed in the program. The style determines the tab shape (stanted vs rounded), whether or not icons are included and whether or not tabs scroll left - right. Select a Tab Style and choose Apply to see what the style looks like.
Turn this option on (default) to add color to tabs. Each tab in a tabbed group is displayed with a diffent color, making the tabs easier to work with.
These options apply to the docking views (also called Managers) like the Surfaces Manager or Points manager.
Tabs on top - Turn this option On to draw the tabs at the top of docking manager. The default tab location is at the bottom of a docking view with the name of the view displayed in the Caption bar at the top.
Caption bars - Turn this option On (default) to include a caption bar at the top of each view. It is possible to turn the caption bars off to reduce the screen footprint of docking views. TPC does not recommend turning caption bars off if you group docking views because they aid in docking the views (dragging the caption bars with the mouse).
3D Frames - Turn this option On (default) to add some 3D affects to the docking views.
AutoHide Animation - Select one of the animation options. Choose None to turn AutoHide Animation off.
Tabs - Turn this option On to convert to Tabbed windows for all non-docking views (Traverse View, Drawing View, Closure View, Vertical Curve View, Report View, Message View, etc). Turn this option Off (default) to display each non-docking view in its own frame.
Pulldown 'Views' menu - Turn this option On (default) to include a pulldown menu to the right of a tab group. This menu lists each view in the tab group allowing you to directly access any tabbed view.
Tab icons - Turn this option on to include icons in the tabs. Icons for tabs to be wider in order to display the icons. Default = On.
[X] button only in active tab - Turn this option On (default) to include a close button [X] in the active tab. If this option is turned off, a tab group displays a single [X] close button at the right -hand side of the tab bar.
You can select a predefined layout or add your own. Layouts let you quickly switch from your single monitor layout to your dual monitor layout when you dock your notebook computer. You can also save your current layout then experiment with additional layout options.
Save - Turn this option on the retain the desktop layout using the current layout name displayed in the list. TPC will remember the desktop layout, look, tab settings and any customizations you do to the menus and toolbars.
Recall - Select a named layout from the list and choose Recall. TPC will load the layout and use it when you choose Apply or OK.
Delete - Select a named layout and choose Delete to remove it from the list.
Turn this option on to restore your desktop layout to the program default the next time you run TPC. This option lets you experiment with layout options as you learn to dock views and arrange the desktop to your liking then start over and apply the best of what you have learned to a saved layout. You choice. Use it if you need it.
Choose the option to edit the font used to display data in the views. Most of the views use this font. The exceptions are the Drawing View where you draw the text objects and the Report View, which has it's own font.
Discards any changes made in the Program Settings and returns you to the previous view.
