This option allows you to tell TPC what options to use for Angle Sets.
You can insert an Angle Set in a traverse by going to Edit | Insert Set or by pressing F8 in the Traverse View.
Enter the type of set you want to use. The letters F and B indicate foresight (FS) and backsight (BS).
BFFB is the standard direction method. The sequence is BS normal, FS normal, FS inverted, BS inverted.
BBFF is a variation of the direction method where the sequence is BS normal, BS inverted, FS inverted, FS normal.
BF2 is a variation of the repeat angle method where the BS inverted reading is not recorded.
BF4 is a variation of the repeat angle method where the sequence is FS normal, FS normal, turn the angle 4 times alternating normal and inverted, and record the last FS inverted.
Sets are inserted into the Traverse View by choosing the Set command. This value determines how many sets are inserted by this command. The default is one (1) set - one set being BFFB or BBFF, etc. Two sets would be BFFB BFFB. In the case of multiple sets, each individual set is meaned and stored internally, then the sets are meaned together. Only the combined mean is displayed in the Traverse View as the FSM or SSM.
These are the tolerance values. If the difference between the mean of a set and any single observation is greater than the tolerance, an error message is displayed giving the offending values. You can then decide to shoot the set over or accept the set as is.
When using a direction method set like BFFB or BBFF, this toggle uses the FS normal as the resultant angle instead of the mean.
