TPC inserts a point halfway between the highlighted point and the previous occupied point. If the highlighted point was a PC or PT, the inserted point will be halfway along the arc. TPC also computes an average elevation for the inserted point.
Once a point is inserted along a straight line or a curve you can always change its position using the COGO | Compute Coordinates option. The halfway feature gives you a place to start.
Note: If you highlight a foresight or side shot with raw data, TPC thinks you are entering a new point with raw data and will not create the midpoint, but will assign the new point the coordinates of the foresight or side shot that was highlighted.
