Entering PLSS Traverse Data

To enter PLSS data in a traverse, format any Traverse View to include True Bearings and Geodetic ground distance at your project elevation.

  1. From the Traverse View, choose Edit | Format View.
  2. Enter the letters 'b' for True Bearing and 'g' for Geodesic Distance in both the Display Sequence and Edit Sequence.
  3. In the Advanced Tab, turn on the option to 'Compute Latitude and Longitude'.
  4. From the Geodetic Distance list, choose 'Geo Distance (project elevation = ???? PLSS)'
  5. From the True Bearing list, choose 'True Bearing (mean course convergence PLSS)'

In the Traverse View, enter all PLSS bearings in the 'True Bearing' column and all PLSS (ground) distances in the 'Geo Dist' column.
