TPC uses several names within a survey. A brief explanation of each name follows to help describe its use.
The survey name is the name you give to a survey. It can be up to 255 characters long and can include any character you can type from the keyboard. The default survey name is ‘Untitled’.
The survey name is displayed in the upper left-hand corner of the Traverses Manager. To change the survey name, first ensure that you are in the Traverses Manager, and then either press [F7] or highlight the Edit menu and select Job. You can also enter information about the client and location of the survey.
Each survey is stored in a TRV file. Any filename allowed by the operating system is OK.
Every traverse in the survey can have its own unique name. It can be up to 255 characters long. A survey can have many traverses, so naming them is important in organizing your survey.
The traverse names are displayed as a list of names in the Traverses Manager. The first two points along with the number of points in each traverse are displayed as a way to further help you identify the traverses in the survey.
To change a traverse name, go to the Traverses Manager, highlight the traverse you want to rename and type the new name.
