Drawing View Traverse Commands

From the Drawing View, you can choose a number of commands that operate on a selected traverse. Just select any drawing object created by a traverse (this includes lines, point symbols, point labels, line labels, lot labels, etc.), right click and choose Traverse Settings.

Operations like Rotate and Translate could just as easily be done by selecting the same traverse in the Traverses Manager and opening its Traverse View. They are included here for convenience. The move and duplicate commands allow you to move a traverse graphically, placing it where you want it in Drawing View. You can estimate the location or use the snap commands for more exact placement.

Drawing View also has commands to add or remove points from a traverse (like a contour border) and create new traverses.

Moving a Traverse

This is a very handy way to move a house foundation on a lot. Use the snap commands to place the traverse exactly where you want it.

Duplicating a Traverse

You can duplicate any traverse in Drawing View, then place the duplicate where you want it on the drawing. This is a great tool for laying out multiple building pads, retention ponds, planters, and other features.

TPC will duplicate the traverse and add it to the Traverses Manager. You will need to Tag the traverse to include it in this drawing.

Editing a Traverse

You can edit the traverse that created the lines and text you are looking at in the drawing You can edit the traverse that created the lines and text you are looking at in the drawing by right clicking any traverse object like a point symbol, point label, line or line label and choosing Edit Traverse.

TPC opens the Traverse View for that traverse and positions the cursor at the point that you selected in Drawing View.

Adding Points to a New Traverse

You can create a new traverse and select points to add to it by clicking with the mouse. You might use this command to create a traverse for a borrow pit shown in a photo or a timber unit). Add Points to Traverse. TPC displays the og and specify the point labels and description you want to use. You can also edit the Drawing View TrCreate a new traverse in the dialog and specify the point labels and description you want to use. You can also edit the Traverse Settings for this traverse. Close the dialog.

  • Choose Traverse Tools | Add Points to a Traverse.
