Inserting a Picture into a Drawing

TPC loads the picture into your computer’s memory, then displays the picture in the drawing. The picture is redrawn like any other drawing object and can be resized, hidden, edited and deleted.

Inserting a Picture from the Survey Folder

TPC stores the picture’s path and filename in the drawing file. When you open a survey file, TPC must be able to locate the folder that the picture came from or it can’t load the picture. To help the drawings keep track of their pictures, TPC treats pictures from the survey folder (the directory where the survey file is stored) in a special way.

When you insert a picture from the survey folder, TPC stores just the picture’s filename in the drawing file. If you move the survey folder, TPC reconstructs the link automatically.

Copying the Picture to the Survey Folder

If the picture you are inserting is located in a folder other than the survey folder (the directory where the survey file is stored), TPC asks if you want to copy the picture to the survey folder. If you choose Yes, TPC copies the picture to the survey folder and updates the pathname of the picture to the copy.
