TPC allows you to protect points so that their coordinate values can not be modified and they can not accidentally be deleted. Protected points can be unprotected as needed, and some routines like Rotate and Translate allow you to modify protected points as long as you explicitly specify that you want to modify them.
When you protect a point, you have the options of protecting just the northing and easting coordinates, the elevation, or both.
When you enter an elevation in the Traverse View, TPC automatically protects the elevation of the point. This feature allows you to run levels through points that you located with a total station that computes an elevation. In this case, the elevation you enter takes precedence over any elevation computed from the slope distance and vertical angle.
If you have included the Status column in the display sequence, you will see a 'P' indicating that the point is protected.
Select the points you want to protect in either the Points Manager or Traverse View.
Choose Edit Protect Off.
