Use this command to transfer files to and from TPC Handheld on an HP Palmtop or Husky handheld. These DOS devices do not transfer data well directly to Windows. This command accommodates this by running the TPC Handheld Manager that ships with your handheld. Once the HMGR is running, you can transfer files and validate an installation of TPC Handheld.
Choose this option in HMGR to transfer a file to or from a TPC Handheld computer.
When you send a TRV file, HMGR will prompt you to convert it to a TRH file (the native format of the handheld). If you choose Yes, HMGR will make a copy of the TRV file in TRH format, send the TRH file to the handheld, then delete the TRH copy.
When you receive a TRH file, HMGR will prompt you to convert it to a TRV file. If you choose Yes, HMGR will create a copy of the TRH file in TRV format, using the same filename as the TRH file (i.e. JOB1.TRH is copied to JOB1.TRV).
When converting between TRV and TRH formats, HMGR uses the TRH.EXE program. Both the HMGR.EXE and TRH.EXE programs must reside in the same directory as TPC Desktop for Windows. In addition, the date of the TRH.EXE program must match the date and version of TPC Handheld you are running.
When you update the version of TPC Handheld on your handheld computer, the format of the TRH files may change. It is possible that the new version of TPC Handheld will not be able to read the existing TRH files on the handheld. As a result, you must transfer and remove all TRH files from the handheld prior to updating TPC Handheld. You should also copy the TRH.EXE program that comes with the update into the TPC Desktop for Windows directory so that this command uses the appropriate TRH.EXE program when it converts TRV files to TRH format.
Use this command to validate a new installation of TPC Handheld.
Closes HMGR and returns to TPC Desktop.
