Using Help Command

(Help Menu)

In Windows, just knowing how to get the help you need when you need it can be a big step. Here are some hints to help you along the way.

Context Sensitive Help

Context help applies to whatever you are doing at the time. If you are entering data in a dialog, you want help on that dialog, etc.

Help Contents

The Help Contents tab lists topics like 'Using COGO'. Click the topic you want for lots of help on whatever you want to do. The how to help goes into detail about how TPC does things and why.

Help Topics

Choose Help | Search for help on to display TPC's Help Topics, then click on the Index tab. The topics are arranged alphabetically. Scroll down through the list until you find the topic you want or just starting typing and let it highlight the closest matching topic in the list.

General topics like COGO contain subtopics like 'Computing a predetermined area'. Just click on COGO to display the subtopics, then double click the one you want or highlight it and choose Display.

Other topics like 'Format toolbar - Drawing View' open that help topic directly.

Searching for help

Choose Help | Search for help on to display TPC's Help Topics then click on the Find tab. Follow the instruction to create the database, then type in what you want to look for like 'Resection' or 'Fillet'. TPC lists all the help topics that contain what you are looking for.
