Exporting EMF Files

TPC writes EMF files from the Export dialog box. You can use all of the graphics options to draw your survey, then write a copy of it to an EMF file.

• From the Drawing View, choose Tools | Export Drawing as. You will see the Export dialog.
• Select Enhanced Windows Meta File from the Type list.
• Enter a file name for the export file or choose Browse. By default, TPC combines the Survey name and the drawing name to create the file name.
• Choose Settings, select the Export options you want and choose OK.
• From the Export dialog, choose Export.

Congratulations! You just wrote an EMF file.

Scaling the EMF File

We don’t think of EMF files in terms of scaling. Rather, EMF files can be displayed, printed or plotted at any size. As a result, you would be wise to include a scale bar in the EMF file. The scale bar will indicate the scale of the printed / plotted / displayed EMF file.
