Version 4.1
If you are moving from Version 4.0 to Version 4.1 or higher, here are some changes you will see.
What's New in Version 4.1?
- Undo any action in Drawing View.

Delineating Text Boundaries -
- Display the printed text boundaries for better positioning on the drawing.
- Bring up the line dialog while drawing an object and specify an exact bearing, distance, radius, etc.
- Draw any line, polyline, etc in ortho mode.
- We've included north arrows, scale bars, title blocks, traffic symbols, map symbols and lots more.
- Fill rectangles, circles and polylines with a solid color.
- Rotate any symbol or object - even the north arrow.
- Select multiple objects for moving, copying, deleting, hiding, etc.
- Snap to the tangent point of an arc or circle, intersection of two objects, or perpendicular to a line.
- Undo as many zooms as you want.
- Let TPC automatically update the scale, date, file name, job number.
- Add any block, line type or just text to the legend.
- This is a really neat way to keep track of which objects are paper space.
- Choose from several new line types to use for fences, posted line, etc.
- Run the DOS handheld manager program, allowing you to transfer files.
What's Different in Version 4.1?
If you have been using V4.0, you'll notice some differences in this program. We'll list some of them for you here.
- The Help files have been expanded to include everything once found in the manual plus lots more. Check out How to Use Help to learn what is there.
- The North Arrow, Scale Bar and Title Block are now blocks that you insert by choosing Insert | Blocks and opening the appropriate folder. There are several of each to choose from. Some are fancy - some are not.
- The Drawing View has a new Insert menu.
- Choose Tools | Program Settings | Surey Data to set the 'Remind To Save' time.
- When you close a traverse, TPC removes the last point if it hasn't been used.
- When you select unused points in the Points Manager and when you delete points, TPC purges the drawings and updates the reference count.
- You can rotate point symbols.
- You can add point symbols to the symbol lists in the Control, Side Shot and Point Symbol dialogs.
- All Drawing View commands end on Enter or right click.
- Added support for CF (cut/fill) and SK (stakeout) records in TDS import.
- You can now round the corners of a rectangle. Just right click and enter a radius.
- Put Traverse Settings (control, side shot, lot, miscellaneous) on a property sheet.
- The Zoom Window command now zooms exactly what was windowed.
- When closing print preview, Drawing View restores the last zoom.
- Implemented Help Mode (Question mark with Arrow on tool bar, Help | What's This?). The user can choose this command and then left click on anything, including menu commands, tool bar buttons, etc to get help.
- Right click any tool bar to customize it.
- Added 'Contents' and 'Search for Help On…' to Help menu.
- When importing an ASCII file, TPC now checks existing points that match the imported point. If found, the imported point is ignored.
- TPC shows the Message View only when there is a new message.
- Hold down Ctrl key in Drawing View to skip the first object in the hit test and pick the second instead.
- Add drafted lines + ++ X XX / //
- If you snap to something like a perpendicular and TPC can't compute it, it beeps and doesn't accept the mouse click - you just try again.
- Added toggle to force closure as if the lot started and ended with the same point in the 'Right of Way Offset' dialog.
- Don't select points with @ in label when selecting unused points. These are stored as ‘staked' points.
- Added code to properly track the Description column width prior to creating a report. This affects the Traverse, Point and Point Code views.
- Added Edit | Drawing View Traverse Settings to Traverses Manager. Brings up Traverse Settings dialog for highlighted traverse.
- When entering a From and To point in the translate dialog, compute and display the bearing and distance of the translation.
