Traverse View Formats

Although it is quite easy to format the Traverse View, TPC lets you save and recall the formats that you use most.

Saving Traverse View Formats

If you have a format you use often, you can save it under its own unique name, then recall it as the format to use for any other traverse. This is a great way to customize TPC to work just the way you want it to.

• Choose View | Format View .
  
• Enter the Display Sequence, Edit Sequence, OP Sequence, Distance Factor, Description Width and other options you think you will use most often.
  
• Choose Save Format to display the Save Format dialog.
  
• Choose New and enter the name of the format, then click OK. The program will save your format and return to the Save Format dialog box.

You can use up to 100 characters in a format name. Make the name descriptive so you can pick it out of a list;

TOPO/SITE w/benchmark
Control w/HI & HT
Boundary w/Curves
Centerline per State Req’d format

Recalling Traverse View Formats

• Choose View | Format View .
  
• Choose Recall Format to display the Recall Format dialog.
  
• Click the down arrow next to the Format field to pop up the list of named Traverse View formats. Any formats you created yourself will be displayed here.
  
• Highlight the format you want and press [Enter] or click it with your mouse then choose OK to return to the Format dialog box.
  
• Make any changes you want to the recalled format, then choose OK to apply the settings to the current traverse.

Note: You must choose OK from the Format dialog box to change the traverse format.

Starting a New Traverse with a Format

When you create a new traverse, TPC asks you to enter its name and select a format. The format list contains the predefined formats plus any that you have saved. Just select the format you want from the list.

The format you select becomes the default format. The next time you create a new traverse, the format list will display the last format you selected (the default format).
