Creating Traverses
This topic reviews some of the ways to create traverses in TPC Desktop and includes links to specific methods.
From the Traverses Manager
If you have traverse data to enter manually, create a traverse from the Traverses Manager
and enter your data.
From the Points Manager or Traverse View
If you have existing survey points you want to put into their own traverse, you
can select the points from the Points Manager or Traverse View and create a new traverse.
- Select points in either the Points Manager or Traverse View.
- Choose Tools | Add selected points to traverse.
- Fill out the information in the
Add Points to New/Existing Traverse dialog. You will use this
dialog to create a new traverse or select an existing traverse to add points to.
- The Traverses Manager will display the new traverse.
From the Drawing View
- Open the drawing that has the objects you will use to create the traverse. This
can be a point plot from your data collector, a CAD drawing or the current drawing
you are working on.
- Choose Tools |
Add points to Traverse.
- Fill out the information in the
Add Points to Traverse dialog. You will use this
dialog to create a new traverse or select an existing traverse to add points to.
- Follow the drawing
command prompts on the status bar to select data into the traverse.
- When you are finished selecting data into the traverse, press Enter.
