Repeating Commands

Some commands, like Copy, allow you to repeat the command multiple times within one command. As a general rule, you start the command, then either hold down the left shift key or follow the prompt on the status bar and press ‘U’ for ‘mUltiple’.

Copy command – start the copy command and select the object(s) to copy. Press ‘U’ before selecting the base point on the original object(s) or hold down the left shift key while clicking the insert points of the copies. When you are finished inserting as many copies as you want, end the command. If you are holding down the left shift key, release the key before inserting the last copy.

Inset Block – start the command and select a block to insert. Before left clicking the first insert point, press and hold the left shift key. Left click each insert point. Release the left shift key before the final insert. You can also press ‘U’ for mUltiple before left clicking the first insert point, left click each insert point then right click the last insert point to end the command.
