Use this command to make a duplicate of the selected item.
As a general rule, duplicating an item creates a new item with unique (independent) data. So changing the properties of the data in the duplicate item will not affect the data in the original item.
When you duplicate a traverse, you create unique duplicates points as well as a new traverse.
When you duplicate a drawing, you create a new drawing that shares the same taged traverses and surfaces as the original drawing but duplicates all the other drawing objects so that they are unique to the duplicate drawing.
