Use this command to add / remove / edit the pre-defined point symbols. You can:
TPC will open the UserSymbols.dat file in your default word processor. The UserSymbols.dat file is self-documented, providing the information you will need to edit the symbols. Follow the instructions displayed at the top of the file.
The changes you make to the UserSymbols.dat file affect the symbols that are listed in the Drawing View dialogs and the symbol names that are used when a symbol is added to the legend.
To edit these symbols
TPC’s symbols are defined in the TpcSymbols.dat file located in the program folder. As a rule, you will not edit this file since program updates are free to overwrite this file as needed. The one exception is that if you want to remove symbols from the symbol list you will need to comment them out of the TpcSymbols.dat file. The instructions for removing symbols are included in the TpcSymbols.dat file. The syntax of this file is identical to UserSymbols.dat.
Most dialog boxes that provide a list of point symbols also include a Browse button. When you browse for a point symbol, TPC selects it as the symbol to use, adds it to the pull down symbol list and adds it to the UserSymbols.dat file so that it is available from then on as a point symbol. At that point, any survey can use that point symbol.
