This format is used by Nikon’s AP800, DTM-821 and Nikon Transit Software.
Use this option to protect the Coordinate and Station record coordinates as they are imported. If you do not protect the coordinates (default), they are recomputed by the raw data that was imported.
Use this option to update existing points in the survey with the data being imported. If an imported point has the same label as an existing point, the imported coordinates are copied to the existing point.
If this option is off (default), and an imported point has the same label as an existing point, TPC creates a new survey point for the imported point. The one exception to this is that if an imported stored point (08KI) has the same label and coordinates as an existing point, the imported point is assumed to be the same as the existing point and a new point is not created.
Insert comment records into the traverse as a Note record.
Use this option to create a traverse point for each Coordinate Record (UC, UP, MC, MP, CC, RE) being imported. If this option is off (default), stored points are added to the survey and therefore can be accessed through the Points Manager, but are not added to the traverse created by the import.
Use this option to eliminate redundant points in the traverse created from the import.
TPC can display the backsight for each station in its own record and can leave Sideshot Records that are then occupied as separate records in the Traverse View, resulting in a sequence that looks like this.
1 OP
99 BS
2 SS
2 OP
1 BS
3 SS
3 OP, etc.
Or TPC can combine the redundant information, reducing this sequence to the following
1 OP
99 BS
2 FS
3 FS, etc.
This format is much cleaner to work with and is typical of how the traverse would look if you had entered the data manually.
Creates a detailed report in the Message View, showing how the file was converted. You will also see the following:
Unsupported records - displays the entire record
All comments (CO), even if you choose not to include notes in the traverse.
Turn this option on to show unsupported records. TPC does not read the individual observations in a horizontal angle set for this format. If you don't want these to show up as unsupported records, turn this option off.
Turn this option On to read Vertical Angles. Turn it Off (default) to read Zenith Angles. The Nikon format does not specify whether a vertical circle readings are horizontal = 90 degrees (Zenith Angle) or horizontal = 0 degrees (Vertical Angle).
Use this option to Include Control Point and Side Shot records (raw data) in addition to Coordinate records when exporting.
