The Drawing Data Manager exposes the data in a drawing
in the
familiar Tree structure (used in Windows explorer to diaplay folders and
sub-folders).
TPC includes sections for Title Block, Page, Layers, Traverses, Surfaces, Symbols, Blocks, Fonts, Tables, Dynamic Offsets, Miscellaneous drawing data and more.
To see the Page information, left-click the [+]. It changes to a [-] box indicating that the item is expanded. Left-clicking the [-] again collapses the item.
You expand an item to see what's in it. Expanded items that contain information can in turn be expanded to present more inforation, like moving out on the branches of a tree (hence the name Tree structure).
This might be the most useful feature of the Drawing Data View. Any item with a check box next to it can be turned On or Off by left clicking the check box.
Layers - turns the On / Off.
Surfaces and Traverses - tags / untags the surface or traverse.
Drawing objects - Hides / shows the object in the drawing.
Items can be edited simply by double-clicking them in the Drawing Data Manager. Double click a layer to open the Layer dialog. Or double click a traverse to open its Traverse View. You get the point. You have access to everything in the drawing in this manager.
You can also delete drawing objects from this manager. Assume you have a dynamic offset that won't go away. Open the Dynamic Offset section of the Drawing Data Manager and delete that item. It's pretty simple.
The Drawing Data Manager exposes one drawing at a time and it doesn't have to be the drawing in the Drawing View. However, you can change the drawing that is exposed conveniently through the following methods.
