Traverse PC Universal Map Sharing - UMS
Share Your Maps Like Never Before!
|
Universal Map Sharing, or
just plain UMS™
is an integral part of Traverse PC. Export your
drawings to one of the industry standard formats like DWG (AutoCAD),
DGN (MicroStation), PDF (Adobe) and EMF (Windows Meta File).
Or choose a standard graphics file format like JPG, GIF or
TIF. Share your maps with virtually anyone,
anytime, using virtually any software - Think of the
possibilities...
|
|
|
|
Example 1 - Work in TPC Desktop... |
|
Traverse PC directly supports all windows printers and
plotters. You print your drawing right out of the
Quick View. And because you are always working right
on the page inside Quick View, your printed drawing always
matches the screen - perfectly.
Once you use TPC
for your first drawing, we think you'll start using it for
all your drawings. Quick View takes all the busy work out of
drafting and makes it fun again.

Example
2 - Export to AutoCAD... |
|
Here is the same drawing
exported AutoCAD LT 2005. Notice how the
line types, fonts, blocks, vicinity map - everything - comes into AutoCAD
looking just like it did in TPC. TPC desktop supports
AutoCAD formats R9 - R2006. You can also choose from DWG,
DXF or Binary DXF.
And TPC doesn't just send AutoCAD a
pretty picture. You get layers, blocks and entities that
AutoCAD can use. If fact, who can tell you didn't generate
the drawing in AutoCAD yourself?

|
|
|
Example 3 - Export to MicroStation |
|
Here is
the same drawing, exported as a MicroStation DGN file.
TPC supports both V7 and V8 DGN formats. TPC writes
MicroStation levels, cells and objects to the DGN file just
like MicroStation does.

|
Example 4 - Saved as a PDF File |
|
Adobe's
PDF (Portable Document Format) files have become the
de-facto standard for exchanging drawings worldwide.
The nice thing about PDF file, besides how small they are,
is that millions of computer users can read them with FREE
PDF viewers like Adobe's Acrobat Reader. They don't even
need Windows since PDF viewers are available on Macs, Unix
and other operating systems.
Your clients
will appreciate getting a copy of their survey in a PDF
file. And since PDF files are vector files (drawing
commands), your client can print your 24"x36" map on their
8.5"x11" printer and it will look just great.

|
Example
5 - Saved as an .EMF file - viewed in
Windows... |
|
Here
the drawing is again. We exported the EMF file from
the Quick View and opened it in Microsoft Office Picture
Manager. You could also open it in Windows XP Viewer
or just about any other PC graphics software.
Like
PDF files, meta files contain drawing commands. As a result,
you can print the drawing at any size you want and it will
look great.
