TPC Desktop for Windows
TRV and DRV Files

This technote explains the relationship between .TRV and .DRV files in TPC Desktop for Windows.

Please refer to the Technote on Views to understand how they affect your Drawings. Refer to the Drawing Quick Start Technote for step-by-step procedures to produce a drawing. To better understand how drawings work, refer to the Technote on Drawings.

TRV and DRV Files

Traverse PC Desktop for Windows stores your drawings in a separate file with a DRV extension. If your TRV file is called "job1.trv" your drawing file will be called "job1.drv"

You will not see the .drv files in your data directory if your Windows Explorer is set up to hide system files.

To set up your Windows Explorer to display these files

  1. Start Windows Explorer

  2. Go to View | Folder Options | View tab

  3. Make sure Show all files is enabled

  4. Make sure Hide file extensions for known file types is not enabled

  5. Select OK when you have the appropriate settings

If you need to send your Traverse PC file to someone else with Traverse PC Desktop for Windows and you want them to be able to access your drawings, you will need to send both the TRV and DRV files.
