TPC Desktop for Windows Network License Installation

This technote describes how to install and run a network license of Traverse PC Desktop for Windows.

Traverse PC offers network licenses for the Personal, Premium, and Professional Editions of the TPC Desktop Series. The network license is designed to help you purchase and maintain TPC Desktop in your organization. The following rules apply to network licenses:

1. A network license is for a pre-determined number (5, 10, or 20) of copies (seats)
   The maximum number of seats will be displayed in the logo screen along with the company information.

2. All the seats must be located on one (1) physical network
   The network copy must be installed on a single file server and accessed by the workstations. TPC Desktop will not run on the server. As a result, the network copy will not work on a distributed network.

3. You will install the program only on the file server using the CD you receive

To set up your network license;

1. At the file server, do a normal program installation

• Insert the TPC Desktop Series CD

• If setup doesn't start automatically, double-click the My Computer icon on your Widows desktop, double-click your CD-ROM drive, and double-click setup.exe

• Follow the on-screen prompts to install the software

2. At each workstation, you will need to create a shortcut to Traverse PC on the file server

• Right-click on the Windows desktop and select New | Shortcut

• Browse to tpc.exe on the file server and double-click it

• Follow the on-screen prompts to finish creating the shortcut

3. You will need to validate the program at each workstation the first time you run the program

• Double-click the TPC shortcut on the Windows desktop

• Enter the Serial Number and Key that were provided with the software

• Enter the user name and company name and click OK

4. The Help | About TPC Desktop screen will display the version number, serial number, number of seats, user name, and company name at each workstation

5. You can not run the program on more workstations than you are licensed for
