TPC Survey System

TPC Survey SystemWe started out with TPC Desktop for the office computer, but over the years, many of you have asked for handheld versions of TRAVERSE PC.  You wanted to start your job in the field and finish it in the office, all with TRAVERSE PC.  We always thought this was a great idea, but we wanted to do more than just offer a "TDS or SDR look-a-like."  We wanted to take the neat stuff in TRAVERSE PC Desktop and squeeze it down to run on a handheld computer plus integrate it tightly with TRAVERSE PC Desktop.

Together, these programs form what we call the TRAVERSE PC Survey System.

What Makes the TPC Survey System Unique?

No matter what platform you run TRAVERSE PC on (PC, handheld, total station), you will see the familiar Survey Screen, Traverse Screen, Closure Screen and Point Screen.  The advantage to you is that once you learn how to run TRAVERSE PC on one platform, you automatically know how to run the rest.  Even the hot keys are the same -- [F1] brings up help, [F5] is Quick View, [F6] is the Closure Screen.

We all talk about "simplifying" and "standardizing" our operations.  Now, with the TRAVERSE PC Survey System, you can.  When we show TPC Handheld to someone who already uses TPC Desktop, we hear things like, "Hey! I know how to run this".  Or "Hey! This is just like TRAVERSE PC Desktop."

The TPC Advantage...

  • Easy to Learn - You can be using TPC in no time at all.  In fact, in as little as a couple or hours, you can be creating quality plats.

  • Built-In-COGO - You don't have to think about how to get something done - you just do it because all the tools are there all the time.  Much of what other programs taught as 'COGO', just happens automatically in TPC.

  • Built-In-Drawings - You don't need another CAD program with the No CAD Zone™.  You create your finished maps right inside TPC!

  • Built-In-Data Collection - With TPC's built-in data collector support, you don't need an additional (expensive) file transfer module.

  • Built-In-Reporting - You create all the reports you need right in TPC.  Include any of the data from any part of your survey.  You decide what the final report contains and how it looks.

  • Built-In-Database - With TPC's built-in database, you are able to work with any batch of data you select.  You can work with an individual point or selected points, an individual traverse or selected traverses, or, the entire survey.

  • Built-In-Point Codes - With TPC's built-in point codes, you can handle a thousands points as easily a hundred.

  • Lightning Fast Completion - with the Traverse View, Quick View™ and No CAD Zone™ there just isn't a faster way.

  • No Risk - With our 30 Day Money Back Guarantee, you can feel confident that you're getting exactly what you want.

  • One Solution - TPC takes the hassle out of connecting to your data collector, total station and other software because TDS/SDR/DXF/Leica/Pentax/ASCII and lots of other file formats are built right in.

  • User Defined Options - You'll find lots of options to make TPC work the way you do - not the other way around.

  • Affordable - Compare TPC to any other surveying software and after you've realized the power of TPC - check out the price.

Getting Started...

Every program in the Traverse PC Survey System comes with a concise, easy to follow Getting Started.  You’ll learn how to start a survey, take side shots, traverse ahead, stakeout points and share data.  There’s even a list of helpful hot keys.  It’s a great way to get up and running quickly.

Using Point Codes...

We are really excited about the Point Code tools built into every TPC Survey System Professional Edition program.  The TPC Handheld program uses a pop-up point code table to help you use and manage your point coding system.  You can use standard code tables or add codes on the fly, change code tables, print and plot codes and use multiple codes per point.  In the office, TPC Desktop can use the point codes to convert your field data into maps with feature lines, layers, colors, line types, bearing/distance, curves - it’s really good stuff.

The best part about using our Point Codes is that you can do whatever you want. You aren’t locked into one way of coding your survey data and you don’t have to be a field-to-finish expert to make it work.

Built-in File Formats...

Every program in the TPC Survey System supports ASCII coordinate, TDS (RW5 and CR5), SDR and DXF files.  Some also provide direct support for HPGL, DMPL, Wild, Nikon, Criterion Lasers, LI Contour, EMXS, Topcon and more.  That’s just about everything.  Plus, they’re built right in.

We don’t make you download to some clumsy transfer software then translate your data into some other format, run yet another software program and try to find the file you created.  With the TPC Software System, just choose the format you want, plug into the other device and choose Go - it’s that simple.

Built-in Features...

No matter which TPC Survey System program you use, you’ll also enjoy "neat" TRAVERSE PC stuff like spread sheet data entry with "Form View", alpha/numeric point labels, point codes, angle sets, stakeout, printed reports, "Quick View" graphics, ASCII/SDR/TDS/TRV files, file transfers, raw data manager, Survey Manager, Traverse Manager, Point Manager, data selection, total station drivers...and the list goes on.

Need more?  Choose a TPC program with additional COGO, drawing,  printing, plotting, data base tools, traverse adjustments, additional file formats or data collector interface.

Sharing Data...

TPC Survey SystemEvery program in the TPC Survey System uses the same files. There’s no need to import/export. Sharing data is as easy as highlighting a file and choosing Send. Want to set up the job for the field crew in the office? Just run TPC Desktop, enter the deeds or translate the control, use the Quick View and Closure Screen to make sure it's right, then transfer that job to the handheld computer or total station. Want to start a job in the field and pick up where you left off back in the office? Just start the job on your handheld or total station, tie everything down based on assumed coordinates, then transfer the job to the PC, rotate and translate and you’re ready to draw the map.

Sharing files with the TPC Survey System is as simple as checking a book out from the library. Check out the jobs you want at the start of the day and check them back in at the end of the day. If you record a stakeout point or add control points to a job - no problem - it just gets checked back in with the job at the end of the day. Sure beats figuring out how to merge the shots you took today with the shots you took last week.

Getting Help...

We know that you have questions from time to time. We also know that when you call, you want answers.  That’s why when you call TRAVERSE PC for technical support, you’ll talk to a real person, probably a licensed land surveyor, get the help you need and be on your way.  You can also e-mail us visit the web site for assistance.

Here at TRAVERSE PC, Inc. we have a secret weapon - "we run our own land surveying company - and we use the TPC Survey System every day for our own surveys".  When you ask us how to do something, chances are we’ve done it ourselves - recently - with our own software.

Just ask the guys at TDS or any other survey software company how many surveys they did last week.

Updates...

No one wants to get stuck with software they can’t update - sometimes you just need to do more.  With the TPC Survey System, software updates are easy. Here’s how they work.  You can download updates from our web site and install them yourself - you don’t have to send in your handheld or total station or program card to get an update.
