No, you won't find a 3-D wire frame or grid model that you can spin around any axis in space - but let's get real - how often does a client walk through your door and ask to see you spin a 3-D wire frame in space? Not very often. They want cut sheets, excavation quantities and transects. They want information from the topo and they want it yesterday!

Transects...

A transect is a profile of the intersections created by the transect object (a line, arc or traverse) and the triangles (TIN) generated by the contour. When you create a transect, you add the computed intersections to a new or existing traverse. Once the traverse is added to the survey, it can be viewed as a profile or printed out in a report.

TPC can generate a transect from any line, arc, polyline or traverse that crosses the contour.

Cut Sheets...

Let TPC compute the cut or fill at each design point. Use it for preliminary analysis of the site or go right out and do the construction staking. You can place a foundation at a certain grade, anywhere on the contour map, and TPC will give you the cut/fill to each corner of the foundation.

Pick as many items as you want in the drawing and generate a section in the report for each one - this is great stuff.

Quantities...

TPC generates cut / fill / net volumes along with cut / fill / total area for any contour. You can generate volumes and areas to the contour border, any elevation above or below the contour surface or to another surface. TPC also generates the surface area of any contour.
